boutique Pilates studio Vienna
LINES STUDIO stands for quality, authentic Pilates — in small-group classes and private sessions.
LINES STUDIO brings together a modern, welcoming space with expert Pilates teaching. We combine the classical Pilates method with the contemporary, body-aware approach of BASI Pilates, an internationally respected standard in Pilates education, and work with the full range of professional Pilates apparatus.

Our teachers are highly trained and continue learning well beyond their initial certification, allowing every session to be thoughtful, precise and tailored to the individual.

Private sessions and small-group classes are at the heart of what we do, creating space for personal attention, strong technique and meaningful progress.

We welcome beginners and experienced practitioners alike, as well as athletes, older adults, people managing injuries, and those moving through pregnancy or postnatal recovery. Wherever you’re starting from, our aim is to help you feel supported, confident and empowered in your movement.
our TEAM

Anja ries, PhD

I'M Anja

Founder of LINES STUDIO and a BASI-certified Pilates teacher, currently advancing through the Legacy Program — BASI's most advanced teaching pathway. I hold a PhD in Neuroscience, which sharpens my eye for movement detail and how I draw out Pilates' benefits for both mind and body. I'm a member of the Pilates Verband Austria.

My teaching adapts naturally to whoever's in front of me — complete beginners, experienced practitioners, the elderly, athletes, and clients navigating pregnancy or postnatal recovery. I hold specialized training in Pilates through Pregnancy and Beyond, as well as Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies, so I'm well equipped for clients with more specific needs too.

My style is hands-on, precise, and highly individual. I pay close attention to movement quality and the small details that can completely change how an exercise feels. At the same time, I want Pilates to feel approachable — challenging when it should be, but never intimidating.

I'M SOPHIE

A BASI-certified Pilates teacher and a member of the Pilates Verband Austria. Movement has been part of my life since childhood, through gymnastics and rhythmic gymnastics, alongside a professional background in taxes and accounting.

I hold specialized certifications in Pilates through Pregnancy and Beyond and Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies, and work closely with clients navigating pregnancy, postnatal recovery, or a specific injury or condition — adapting each session so it genuinely fits where someone is that day.

Outside the studio, you'll usually find me traveling, taking photos, or enjoying good coffee — art, design, and travel all shape how I see the world. I believe Pilates is for everyone, wherever you're starting from, and I love helping clients feel stronger, calmer, and more at home in themselves.

I'M Hannah

A BASI-trained Pilates teacher with an Honours degree in Dance Performance and over ten years of experience teaching dance and movement. Outside the studio, you'll usually find me exploring the city, visiting galleries, or dancing in my kitchen to good music. Movement — dance, Pilates, yoga — has always connected me to people around the world, and I love sharing that with clients here.

You ask

We answer

How do I book or cancel a class?

All bookings and cancellations are managed through our online booking system. Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance to keep your credit and free up the spot for someone else. Late cancellations and no-shows will result in a lost credit.

Having trouble booking? Email us at hello@linesstudio.at.

I'm new to Pilates. Which class should I start with?

If you're completely new to Pilates, we recommend starting with a Private (1:1) session for individual guidance and a strong foundation. Prefer a group setting? Reformer Foundations is a great place to start, and Mat Pilates is also suitable for beginners.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable activewear that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are required for all classes and can be purchased at the studio if needed. Please remove jewellery to protect yourself and the equipment. Lockers are available for your belongings.

When should I arrive?

Please arrive 5–10 minutes before class. The studio opens 10 minutes before each session and doors are locked once class begins. For safety reasons, late arrivals can't be admitted.

What language are the classes in?

Group classes are offered in English and German — please check the schedule for details. Private sessions are available in English, German, or other languages spoken by your teacher.

Can I join group classes if I'm pregnant?

Yes — our designated prenatal classes are specifically designed for pregnancy.
Regular group classes are not suitable for pregnant clients.
