about

the

studio

Located in Vienna’s vibrant 5th district, Margareten, LINES STUDIO offers a calm, focused, and welcoming space where you can reconnect with your body and mind.
At LINES STUDIO, we keep groups small — just four people — so you get the focus and guidance you need. We also offer private sessions, fully tailored to your body and goals. We use premium equipment and are trained by some of the most respected Pilates schools in the world. Every class stays true to the essence of Pilates: intentional movement, precision, and conscious breath.
Founder

I'm Anja

founder of LINES STUDIO and a BASI Pilates teacher with a background that bridges science, movement, and mental wellbeing.

Before LINES STUDIO, I spent years immersed in neuroscience, earning a PhD and researching how the brain shapes our inner world and mental health. Originally from Warsaw with roots in Munich, I lived and worked across Europe before settling in Vienna. I teach in English, German, and Polish.

Movement has always been part of my life – I practiced karate from the age of nine into my mid-twenties, and later, while working in demanding roles at leading international companies, I turned to Pilates as a way to stay centered.

What began as a personal practice gradually became something more. Pilates helped me navigate the pressure and pace of high-responsibility work – offering balance, clarity, and a sense of ease I came to rely on. That experience led me to complete my comprehensive teacher training with BASI Pilates, one of the most respected and rigorous global programs, covering the full range of equipment and mat repertoire. The method spoke to both my scientific mind and my lived experience – precise, thoughtful, and deeply connected to how we move and feel.

Qualifications:

– BASI® Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training (eligible for teaching on mat and the full suite of pilates equipment incl. reformer, cadillac, chair, ladder barrel, spine corrector)

– BASI® Intro to Pilates for Injuries and Pathologies, led by world expert Samantha Wood

– BASI® Pilates Through Pregnancy and Beyond with Ashley Ritchie (planned for October 2025)

I created LINES STUDIO as a calm, inclusive space where I support clients in building strength, improving posture, and finding balance – both physically and mentally – just as Pilates has done for me.

You ask

We answer

How do I book or cancel a class?

All bookings and cancellations are done through our online booking system. If you can’t make it, please cancel your spot at least 24 hours in advance to avoid losing your credit and to free up space for others. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before class, or no-shows, will result in a lost credit.

Do you offer a first-timer deal?

Yes! We have a special offer for first-time clients. Check our booking page or ask us in the studio for the current promo.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable, fitted activewear that allows you to move freely. Avoid loose clothing, as it can get caught in the reformer. Grip socks are required for safety and hygiene. Please remove all jewelry (like bracelets, necklaces, or earrings) to protect both the equipment and yourself. Hair should be tied back securely, but please avoid clips, as they can be uncomfortable when lying down and also damage the equipment. You’ll find lockers at the studio where you can safely store your personal items during class.

Do I need grip socks?

Yes, grip socks are required for all classes – they help with stability and hygiene.

Should I tell the teacher about any injuries or health conditions?

Absolutely. Please let your teacher know before class starts, so they can offer modifications and keep you moving safely.

What if I’m running late?

Please arrive no earlier than 10 minutes and no later than class start time. The studio opens shortly before class, and the doors will be locked once the session begins.
For safety reasons, late arrivals can’t be admitted. Thanks for understanding and helping us maintain a focused, uninterrupted space for everyone.

I’m new to Reformer Pilates. Which class should I start with?

If you’re new to the reformer, we recommend starting with a private session or one of our foundational group classes. Arrive a few minutes early so your instructor can walk you through the equipment. It’s the best way to get comfortable with the machine, learn the fundamentals, and move with more confidence from the start.

What language are the classes in?

Group classes are mostly in English, with some in German or Polish – check the schedule for details. Private sessions and the “Pilates & Friends” class (up to 4 people) can be held in English, German, or Polish.

Can I join group classes if I’m pregnant?

Group classes are not recommended during pregnancy, unless they are specifically tailored prenatal sessions. Please reach out if you’d like more information about safe training options during pregnancy.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes – there’s a 90-minute free parking garage at EUROSPAR (Tiefgarage Zentagasse 11/13), just around the corner from the studio. Alternatively, you may find street parking nearby. Please note the area is part of a paid short-term parking zone, so don’t forget to pay as required.
